Welcome to Seymour Tech
Technology classes are offered by Seymour Tech volunteers. We have been holding classes at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill, NC, for many years.
For beginners, we offer our Windows PC Refresher and our Introduction to the Mac. We can provide a loaner laptop PC during in-person classes, but strongly suggest you bring your own Windows laptop if you have one. When you Enroll, please let the front desk know that you require a loaner PC. These loaner laptops must not be taken from the classroom. Students must bring their own equipment for all iPad, iPhone, Mac, Android phone and Android tablet in-person classes and clinics.
We offer 2 kinds of classes. See the description for each class to see which kind it is:
1: In-Person classes & clinics: Our three clinics, and most of our classes, will be in-person. These in-person classes & clinics will not have a Zoom option. We are limited to 8 students in the computer lab. In-person students typically get more attention and more help. You must sign up to attend in-person. Enroll for in-person classes & clinics by calling the Seymour Center, 919-968-2070. If our class is full, you can get on the wait-list. The fee for in-person classes is $10.00. There is no fee for in-person clinics.
Note: For In-Person clinics, when you Enroll at the front desk, please tell the Staff person your email address. We will send you an email no later than the day before the clinic so that you can confirm that you are coming, and also tell us the questions you will want help with in the clinic. We will reply back with your specific time between 1-3 pm to meet with a volunteer.
2: Zoom (Virtual) classes: You can Enroll in our Zoom classes only at our Seymour Tech website - www.seymourtechcenter.org. Click the ENROLL link for each Zoom class to register. Please Enroll no later than 3 pm the day before the class. We will email your Zoom link and class handout soon after that. There is no fee for Zoom classes.
